07/10/16 Animation class

 Today we continued with Timing and Spacing as well as Squashing and Stretching with different types of balls, the first being a basic cartoony ball, the second being a heavier bowling ball, the third being a ping pong ball and lastly a tennis ball.

    Your comment "They all have been exaggerated slightly for cartoony effect, realism is so dull and boring, bouncing just once or twice... yawn! It needs some spice!" specifically goes against what I have asked you to do. Please fix this so that they aren't all cartoony. The 3 vertical ones are supposed to be more realistic to show that you understand the difference in animation principles.

    1. The only truly cartoony design is the bowling ball one, in class you seemed fine with it though but if you would prefer I not do this then i'll change them.

      As for the blue ball i was under the impression you would have preferred if i edited it, as the file is at home i was planning on adding a tennis ball skin to it when i get back.

      Is exaggerated not aloud in the animations? i stuck with relative realism as the ping pong ball looses velocity with each time it hits the wall, the bowling ball... well... we discussed that in class as it was an exaggerated amount of weight.

    2. I Think I need to talk about how far one can go before they start going beyond the boundaries, I feel like i'm getting mixed signals when i'm working.

      Perhaps in next weeks class we can discuss this.

  2. Also, I see you have re-used the bouncing ball you made last week. We discussed this earlier and I asked you to make a fresh one for this lesson to show more realistic principles. Please fix this.

  3. Hey Dave - just dropping by; Nat's just laying down some boundaries - nothing personal, just 'the way it is' if you want to be able to say 'yes, I've done the 12 principles of animation'. Fix what you need to fix and move on :)
